Another garden surprise reveals itself, and it’s a balloon flower!

Sumo wrestling at Stroll on Elm, a pleasant surprise on a hot Greensboro (first) Saturday.

Today we unearthed more of what is probably the original low garden wall.

I started what seemed like a simple project on the north side of the yard, but I didn't expect a bent trowel, a patch of poison ivy, or the discovery of the protected vine zone.

With catching up on the porch and watching the hummingbirds, staying in place is starting to feel pretty good.

I wanted to capture a photo of my favorite bird buddy this afternoon. He had other plans.
