Waiting for Wren

Sometimes it’s just tree watching.

Today I wanted to capture a photo of my favorite bird buddy, the wren who’s built a nest in one of the birdhouses on the weird little tree in our yard. He’s here all day, sitting atop the highest branch, yelling unspecified grievances and emphatic proclamations at the neighborhood. Not this afternoon, though. We planted a some Carolina jasmine (a little late in the year, I know) at the base of the tree, and I think we may have annoyed him. I left him a bit a moss for his nest as a peace offering. I’m sure all will be back to normal in the AM.
